Let’s get started!
#1: Meet the Basic Requirements for the Indiana Adjuster License
Before you start taking steps to get your adjuster license, make sure you meet Indiana’s basic requirements.
- Be determined to be trustworthy, reliable, and of good reputation
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of Indiana
- Not have committed any act that is grounds for denial, suspension or revocation of a license
If you meet these basic requirements, it’s time to strategize how to ace your state exam.
#2: Take the Required Indiana Pre-Licensing Course
Indiana is one of a handful of states that require you to take a state-approved pre-licensing course before you can register and take the adjuster exam.
AdjusterPro’s Indiana Adjuster Pre-Licensing Course satisfies the state’s 40-hour pre-licensing requirement and will thoroughly prepare you to pass the challenging state adjuster exam.
Our course has been rigorously prepared and is regularly updated. Our online classroom allows you to print reference materials, take practice tests, and even create your own quizzes to help with subjects you are struggling with.
At the end of the course, you’ll be given a 100-question, multiple-choice final exam. You must correctly answer at least 70% of the questions to pass the pre-licensing course. However, we recommend consistently achieving 90% or higher on all the quizzes and practice exams before taking the state adjuster exam.

#3: Register for and pass the Indiana Adjuster License State Exam
Register for and take your Indiana state exam through PearsonVue.
When registering for your state exam, have a copy of your Certificate of Completion from your pre-licensing course handy. If you took your course with AdjusterPro, your Certificate of Completion is available in the Certificates folder in your online classroom. You will also need to bring your Certificate with you to the testing center when you go to take your exam.
You must score at least 70% on the state exam to pass. You will be given 1 hour and 35 minutes hours to finish your exam. Candidates who score below 70% will need to pay for and take the exam again.
Full details and instructions on the testing process with PearsonVue are available in the Indiana Candidate Handbook.
#4: Submit an Application for Your Indiana Adjuster License
Once you’ve taken the required pre-licensing course and passed the state exam, you’re ready to apply for your Indiana adjuster license.
Submit your application online through Sircon. You can also check to see if your license has been issued through the same Sircon link.

#5: Complete Indiana Continuing Education and License Renewal Requirements
Once you have your license, you’ll need to complete some additional steps every few years to keep it active. Resident Indiana adjusters are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to renew their license. You cannot receive credit for any course more than once in any CE reporting period. Excess CE credits cannot be applied to the next compliance cycle.
License renewal occurs on the last day of the individual’s birth month. Renew your license through Sircon.
Detailed renewal information is available on the IDOI Renewal Requirements page.
AdjusterPro offers over 40 hours of state-approved continuing education courses for Indiana adjusters. Courses can be purchased individually or as a discounted bundle that will completely fulfill the 24-hour requirement.
