National Insurance Producer Registry

The National Insurance Producer Registry is an amazing tool for applying for or renewing independent adjuster licenses. It is easy to use and keeps you updated on the entire licensing process, whether resident or non-resident.

Sircon (Producer Edge)

Much like NIPR, Sircon can help you apply for and renew adjuster licenses. However, Sircon also acts as a complete management tool for your licenses, sending you (for a fee) updates on upcoming license expirations, compliance requirements and the like.

The original and still the most widely preferred estimating platform around. If you stand any chance for success in the adjusting world, you better learn Xactimate. Luckily, we are here to help.

Symbility is the rising star in claims estimating and is innovative with their ‘mobile-first’ approach. Many have tipped Symbility to eventually dethrone Xactimate for king of the estimating software hill.

Simsol has definitely evolved over the years, becoming easier to use and understand. I still enjoy estimating with Simsol whenever I get a chance.

Sales and use tax rates by zip code!

They may not win an award for most beautiful website, but what they lack in form they more than make up for in function. Inspectapedia is an adjuster’s dream with hundreds of articles on all kinds of building related inspection information.

NOAA National Climatic Data Center

Great source for nice looking weather reports based on current or historical weather data. The Center’s mission is to preserve data and make them available to the public, business, industry, government, and researchers. Plus, they are based in Asheville, NC, where I was raised!

Weather Underground

Although owned by The Weather Channel now, Weather Underground has changed very little in the past several years. I rely on to look up weather history data for a given location.

Weather Fusion by CoreLogic

Paid reports that provide accurate hail data by address, dating back several years. Their service is on demand, meaning you login, enter the address, pay and are instantly provided with the data you need.

This site seems to suffer from periodic outages, but when it is up and running, it is a great (and free) resource for verifying hail in an area.
